9 1/2 weeks
I'm really terrible at this whole blog thing! How in the world am I going to be able to keep up with a baby? 9.5 more weeks to go and still no crib, baby name, or blog post. BOOM that was fast.

Wearing Pink
So we're having a little girl. My heart is glowing & the amount of excitement going through me right now is something that I really can't put in to words. I want her to be strong. I want her to be funny & clever & wise. I want her to be kind. I worry about mean girls. I worry about body image issues. I worry about all of the things than can happen to girls and how strong she'll have to be (& we'll have to be) to get through them. All of this at only 21 weeks. I can't imagine what 18 years is going to look like.
I'm still baaarely showing even though I feel like everyone can tell. ;) Check it out! Now my nickname Kelly Belly is actually pretty accurate! I'll work on taking better pictures in the future.

15 and counting
The picture below is actually from 12 weeks so the little nugget should be quite a bit bigger by now. We have another doctor's appointment next Tuesday. I don't think we have an ultrasound for a while (maybe at 20 weeks?) but if we did have one then we'd probaby be able to figure out the sex. According to my iPhone app it's about the size of an apple now. Crazy!
Dauph is convinced it's going to be a girl. Like, 99.9% convinced. Obviously we're cool either way, but we haven't even thought about boy names yet so if it is a boy he'll probably be named Thor or something equally ridiculous.
I'd post bump pictures but I'm still teetering on the edge of "Is Kelly fat" and "Woah Kelly is preggers!". So I think it's best to wait and post pictures until there's something fun to see.
Until then. the little one is over there waving hello! I *think* I feel kicks. Since I've never felt them before I'm not sure if they are kicks or gas but hey, I can hope!

Almost 12
Some day you will be old enough to start reading fairy tales again.~C.S. Lewis
I thought it was about time to start blogging when I looked down today and realized that my jeans were fitting tighter, my abs hurt, and my mind is wandering more than ever. I'm 10 weeks pregnant. Some close friends and family know but other than that, this is the hardest secret I've ever had to keep. I love reading my friends blogs and gushing over their adorable pictures so, check, here I am! I'm due exactly three days after my first wedding anniversary.
The name of the blog is from a C.S. Lewis quote I love that embodies the sense of magic and wonder this whole process has me under. Not to mention I can't wait to read all the fairy tales my parents taught me when I was a child. I still love them. One of my friends posted a story today about her little girl who was doing "this little piggy" with her toes yesterday. Apparently one of the little piggies "went to Central Market". Central Market is a grocery store here in Austin. I can't stop smiling.
That's all for now. I promise I'll post pictures. For now, there are none to share. Nothing interesting happening except me falling asleep at 9:30. Here we go!
